Preliminary design of the RF elements of a microwave communications system and fiber network design.
Routing and path analysis based on diverse maps/terrain databases.
Radio path calculations (path loss), antenna sizing and centerline optimization.
Capacity engineering.
The path survey a field collection and verification of the environmental and terrain parameters (coordinates, site ground elevation, heights of potential obstructions which lie along the path) used in the preliminary design to confirm the system RF feasibility and reliability objectives.
Development of a path survey report, if/when required, the Transmission Engineer is also involved in the Frequency Management/Application process.
Occasionally, the Transmission Engineer will be called upon to troubleshoot microwave paths if over-the-path parameters are suspicious.
