Job Description:
The ideal candidate is a System Engineer with over ten years of technical experience and a broad background in wireless communications, experience with mobile applications and public safety applications. The candidate will be responsible for system design, analysis and definition in support of M/A COM's VIDA architecture, particularly as regards LMR/IP Technologies. Areas of responsibility will include system level requirements analysis, architecture, interface definition and documentation. The position may include prototyping for proof of concept, test development and development of tools for system analysis, test and dimensioning. The successful candidate will be effective operating in a flexible team environment in which varied assignments are the norm.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 5 years of software system engineering and 5+ years of software development experience
• Wireless applications or telecommunications background
Preferred Additional Skills:
• Telecom platform experience.
• Skilled user of Linux, Solaris and Windows
• Fluency in one or more programming languages, preferably Java, C++, Perl, or Python.
• Expertise in wireless and especially cellular technology
• Familiarity with routers and networking and general telecom concepts
• User interface specification and design
• Skilled in platform, network and application security
• Advanced spreadsheet user
• Broad knowledge of web application technologies
• Familiarity with of operator OSS/BSS systems
