Job Description:

Supports the DISA Multinational Information Sharing (MNIS) program providing system engineering support in the areas of technical planning (network and system engineering including directory architectures), system integration, performance characteristics verification and validation, cost, risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total information systems.

Analyses are performed at all levels of the total system to include: concept, alternative analysis, market research, system integration, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal.

Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints.

Works independently or as part of a cross contractor/cross functional team to develop required deliverables.

Serves as MNIS PMO Subject Matter Expert (SME) in networking including Virtual Private Networks (VPN), systems (Microsoft, Solaris O/S preferred; UNIX and Linux acceptable), and security architectures.

Active Directory SME for MNIS providing directory architecture, structure, and protocol evaluations and recommendations supporting Identity Management and Access Control functions for MNIS.

Represents the Government as knowledgeable systems engineer in MNIS and related working groups and integrated product teams.

May lead or co-chair these groups/IPTs.

Prepares technical briefings, generates white papers, and prepares recommendations for technical solutions to client-validated requirements.

Prepares architectures, "as built" and "to-be" drawings using Visio and other graphics applications as required

Serves as Trusted Agent (SETA) support to Government client making supportable, documented recommendations on all system engineering and architectural aspects of both the current legacy and the evolving objective MNIS environments
Job Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering or Computer Science/Network Engineering with at least 9 years of relevant experience working as systems engineer in an enterprise level Department of Defense IT environment required.

Current MCSE in Windows 2003/XP professional certification required (or quickly re-instated).

Candidate must be able to articulate and present system engineering concepts to customer in a clear and concise manner.

Candidate must demonstrate self confidence, initiative, and ability to work in generally defined task areas, with daily but not close supervision.

Candidate must demonstrate firm grasp of network services to include Email, File Transfer, Chat (especially in a federated environment),Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), Web based collaborative tools, database structures (experience in data object labeling/tagging a definite plus), and Domain Name Services (DNS).

Candidate must have familiarity with routing protocols, network separation and Virtual Private Networks.

Candidate should possess familiarity with various cross domain solutions and approved information security approved guards such as Radiant Mercury, DII, DSG, ISSE, ACE, etc.

Candidate must be proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio).
Preferred Additional Skills:

Master of Science highly preferred

MILNET, NIPRNET, SIPRNET a definite plus

Current Cisco CCNP preferred

Experience with IronPort, BorderWare and Tumbleweed email security appliances and Blue Coat web filter and WebSense a plus.

Experience with DISA System Engineering/Major Programs (NCES, DKO), USCENTCOM, USPACOM, (or other major US Combatant Commands) or USJFCOM, SPAWAR.

Experience in multinational operations (info sharing focus) in Afghanistan or Iraq.

Knowledge of or experience with CENTRIXS, Griffin, CFBLNet.

Experience with Intelligence Community cross domain information sharing systems such as Trusted Network Environment and Unified Cross Domain Management Office (UCDMO) approved products
This position requires the candidate to already possess an active Secret clearance and to maintain the clearance.
