Job Description:
- As an integral part of the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) team, this person must demonstrate strong technical needs analysis consultation skills, business acumen, versatility, and problem solving.
- Provide expert-level knowledge when developing, testing and documenting the solutions created Special Operations Forces.
- Candidate will need to understand the intricacies and dependencies between the various solutions that exist on the USSOCOM Enterprise Network.
- Will be required to participate in pilot projects of new solutions to better understand the impact on the overall solutions and educate other engineers on how the solution works.
- Act as a liaison between Harris IT Services Army Programs and customer (US Special Operations Command - USSOCOM) as well as other parts of Harris Corporation.
- Develop network architectures that meet or exceed customer Service Level Agreements at the lowest implementation and operational costs to Harris IT Services, our partners and our customer (USSOCOM).
- Provide proactive oversight of the network architecture maintenance to ensure that life cycle engineering modifications remain consistent with business and technical requirements.
- Maintain highest standards of technical expertise.
- Provide professional and technical leadership to engineers throughout Harris IT Services and the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC).
- As the lead architect/engineer for the SITEC, will lead the engineering efforts for development of the Proposal in response to the SITEC RFP, will be responsible for architect/engineering efforts during contract operations; the SITEC supports networks for HQ USSOCOM, its Components (AFSOC, USASOC, NAVSOC, and MARSOC), the Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and other units that draw services from USSOCOM networks world-wide.
- Lead Architect will be responsible for researching, briefing, gaining approval for, and bringing in innovative solutions to the SITEC networks.
- This position is responsible for understanding all customer designs/technologies and partnering with customers, vendors, and teammates to assist with implementation and day to day operation of the network infrastructure.
- Serves as highest level of support to provide technical leadership and expertise when issues are escalated.
- Provides expert level, On Site support in the following areas: day to day operations, design reviews, high level implementation plans, implementation support, configuration review, proactive network analysis, and knowledge transfer. Enforces enterprise standards, processes and procedures.
- Mentors junior engineers.
- Works to ensure that network performance exceeds that of the contracted service levels.
- Travel will be required, from 25% to 50% of time.
- Location: Tampa Florida (frequent travel to Dulles, Virginia).
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
- 7-10 years hands on experience in the configuration of high-end Microsoft, HP, Cisco products (IOS & Set Based) and tactical communications equipment/suites in an enterprise environment.
- 7-10 years experience in a broad range of networking tasks including planning, design, test, integration and deployment of high-speed, secure, highly survivable, voice, data & video networks.
- Strong CCNP level required.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- CCIE strongly preferred.
- CISSP a plus.
- Experience with large government contracts a plus.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously, self-starter.
This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a security clearance. In order to obtain a clearance you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.
